Episodes Thirteen-Eighteen
Thirteen) Amarinda: “Do you see what I see?” Emmeline’s voice was low and filled with dread.

Shade’s mouth was a grim line as his eyes followed the path of spent zucchinis. “There has
been a hell of a battle here.”

“Who could possibly be alive after this?” Emmeline shook her head at the devastation she
saw. “Do you think Rafe managed to escape?”

Shade swore softly in disgust. It always came down to his bloody twin. Why couldn’t this
woman see and admit the real truth?

“Oh aye, he’s alive and I am sure you will get to use your peeler on my precious brother,” he
growled in frustration, his fangs glinting in the moonlight.

“Jealous?” The thought that Shade could be sent a hot shiver down the fine quills on her back.

“What do you want of me woman?” Shade stormed over and pulled Emmeline into his arms,
holding her tight and close as she squirmed against his hard body. “You know what I crave
from you.”

“I cannot. I must uphold the laws of Khaleena.” What were they again? She could not think
clearly when he held her so, his breath hot on her skin, his heart hammering wildly against
hers.

“I could take you right here and now and the laws be damned,” he whispered against lips. “You
know you want me.”

“I…” Emmeline stopped as she felt Shade stagger suddenly.

“Damn it I have been stung by a zucchini.” He fell to the ground in agony.

Emmeline knew speed was of the essence. She would have to suck hard and fast to save her
man. Her man?

Fourteen) Anny: All around them the zucchini zuukers were advancing. Emmeline nudged her
goggles up to her forehead, allowing her glowing green gaze to singe the closest ones.
Terrible screams muffled the desperate scrabbling of their retreat before the flashing green
beams. As they fought to get away, she drew her laser saber with one hand while she fumbled
in her toolkit for her peeler.

With the first low singing hum of the peeler, silence feel over the immediate area surrounding
them. The zuukers curled into tight little balls that began to grow tough silvery coats to ward off
the hum of the peeler. Emmeline breathed a sigh of relief. The immediate danger was warded
off. Now to see to Shade’s welfare.

She knelt next to him and turned him over on his belly so she could see the extent of the
damage. It was much worse than she feared. The welts extended all up and down his back,
twining deep in the ridges of his phallax. Not even the sacred chocolate could heal such
damage. There was only one solution. She would have to use the peeler.

And if she did, there was no hope of meeting the terms of the prophecy. The moments ticked
past as she debated, torn between the deeply ingrained destiny or saving the man she finally
admitted that she loved. What to do?

Fifteen) Kelly: She only had another fifteen minutes before the zuukers uncurled and continued
their pursuit. Emmeline had to make up her mind, and now. Reaching over her head and down
her back, Emmeline gritted her teeth as she plucked one of the poisonous quills from her
back. The tip seeped viscous and black. Carefully laying down the peeler, she broke off a tiny
corner of the sacred chocolate and dabbed it with the poison. The Shaman would never
approve of such wasteful use of chocolate on a mere man. Still, Emmeline had no choice.

Flipping him over as she chewed the concoction to a pulp, Emmeline gently parted his supple
lips. Shade moaned incoherently. “Hang on, baby. This is gonna sting.” She kissed him, her
tongue with the paralytic tangling on his, swept his mouth with a hunger she had barely begun
to recognize as love.

Shade shuddered. The poison was taking its effect. Emmeline darted a look to the zuukers.
Still safe. She grabbed the peeler and sliced grooves into his back, leaching him of the zuuker’
s poison. Though incapacitated, Shade’s horrific bellows chilled her to the bone. No man
should suffer the peeler.

Tears streamed down her cheeks. Would he survive the torture of the peeler? Would his
phallax ever be capable of participating Goddess Mother Festival? It twitched and wagged
from side to side, filling her with hope.

Sixteen) Amarinda: “Touch it,” Shade moaned as he started to recover.

“I don’t want to hurt you.” Emmeline’s hand ached to caress him.

“Darlin’ if you don’t use your peeler now I will explode and that will be such a waste for both of
us.”

“For god sake use the damn peeler and get it over and done with woman,” hissed the virginal
Guardian of Quadro contemptuously as she looked down at the scene before her. She could
not believe Emmeline was too dumb to take advantage of a fully function phallax. Virginal she
may be, but she had been skilled in the uses of a man and women of Quadro certainly did not
cry over men. They had specific uses and once used up they were cast aside. She shook her
head in disgust. She had no time for this. She had tracked Rafe this far into the mountains
and she could sense he was nearby. She turned away and ran smack bang into a hard, warm
body.

“Gotcha.” Rafe pulled the woman tight and close against him, allowing her no chance to
escape.

“Damn it let me go.” The virgin struggled wildly in his arms. The reality of a hard male body hot
and unyielding against hers was different to the theory she had learned in the temple of
Quadro.

“You will pay for touching me without my consent.” She looked him defiantly in the eye trying
not to show the fear that suddenly swamped her. “I have been sent to kill you.”

“Part virgin and part assassin – never known a woman that wasn’t.” Rafe’s hands slid to her
butt to press her closer to him. He saw the shock in her eyes. “You want to play with peelers?
Let’s play.”

Seventeen) Anny: She squirmed against him until it dawned on her that her action was having
a distinct effect on his lower body. Instantly, she froze, staring in his eyes like a trapped rabbit.

“What’s your name, sweetheart?” he whispered in her ear.

Her voice trembled nervously. “Rinalda.”

“I think we should leave those two to sort out their own problems, Rinalda. We could find
someplace private to explore just how practiced you are with your peeler,” he muttered
suggestively. “Don’t you want to know what it’s really like?”

“Uh…”

“You’re a cute little thing, Rinalda. We’ll have some fun, and then if you still want to kill me, I’ll
just have to arm wrestle that peeler away from you.”

“You can’t do that!” she protested in horror. “That’s forbidden!”

His embrace tightened as he pressed her closer. “I want you, Rinalda. Something about you
sends my phallax nerve endings into overdrive. Please don’t leave me wanting the silken
touch of your peeler.”

She whimpered as he caressed her spine. So close. So close that her quills stood on end.
“All right,” she moaned softly. “Find us a private shelter and I will wield my peeler so skillfully
that you will only feel exquisite pleasure!”

Eighteen) Kelly: “Rafe! Don’t do it,” Shade begged in a hoarse whisper. “She’s not really a
Guardian Virgin. She’s a slut… a Selective Loin Uterine Transplanter.”

Emmeline swung her peeler toward Rinalda. “The Quadro sent you. How did they know my
plan to thwart their evil intentions?”

Rinalda smirked. “They know everything. And thanks to my enhanced peeler three-point-two I
can manipulate the stupid twin and suck his sacks free of their seed. The Quadro’s
companionary species is prepared to take the seed even as we speak.”

“If he does that,” Shade gasped, “they will have their own Rafe offspring to make the prophecy
come to fruition.”

“Rafe! Move before it’s too late,” Emmeline commanded.

“Duuuuhhhh.” Rafe drooled over his lovely chest.

With a wicked cackle, Rinalda pointed her peeler toward his phallax sacks and drained him.
“Too late, Emmeline, he’s under the peeler’s power and losing intelligence by the moment.
You will have no escape from the prophecy.”

Shade gripped Emmeline’s wrist painfully. “Emmeline, I’m dying. There is still a chance to
alter the prophecy. It involves the companion. You must—” Rafe breathed his last.
